Cam's spirit continues in the hope and happiness provided to other families and children in his honor.

Cameron’s family will continue to collaborate with Lurie Children’s to help fund projects that will improve the quality of life of children and families during their hospital stays.

Virtual Blood Drive

Cameron courageously fought kidney disease, which required several blood transfusions, before his death in May 2022. Cameron’s smile and strength made a lasting impact on so many people during his life and his family wants to honor him by continuing to positively change lives in his memory.

The annual blood drive in Cameron's memory is throughout May. It is a "virtual blood drive" meaning you can donate at any Vitalant location during the month of May.

Multi-Sensory Room

at Lurie Children's Hospital

Cameron’s family and Lurie Children’s hospital have collaborated to create a space that can provide patients with various forms of sensory input based on their individualized needs.  The space will promote sensory regulation and stimulation.

This multi-sensory room will be extremely beneficial to long term patients like Cameron by providing developmental experiences not achieved otherwise during hospitalization.  Children will also be able to participate in physical, occupational and speech therapy in the multi-sensory room.

Interactive Entry Screen

at Lurie Children's Hospital

Every day, Cameron and his mom would go for a walk around the 20th floor to get him out of his room for a little bit. His favorite part would be to go to the interactive screen at the entryway. He would interact with butterflies, and would smile and giggle when one would land on his shoulder. They would also make shadow puppets and pretend they were bunnies running through the forest.

Through generous donations in remembrance of Cameron, the screen has been updated (pictured) and now other children can get the enjoyment out of the space, like Cameron did.

Additional Support

at Lurie Children's Hospital

In addition to the larger projects Cameron's family have prioritized, there are continuous needs of patients at Lurie Children's Hospital.

Pajama Drive - Cameron's family were able to collect 4 large bags full of PJs and winter accessories this winter that were given to a nurse for PICU patients, they were extremely grateful. Thank you so much for contributing!!!

Plaque - A window of hope plaque was installed in Cameron's memory on the 20th floor in a patient room.
